From portal vein thrombosis. Alcohol causes scarring. His hep c is in remission. So in his case varices would only come from further Liver damage from alcohol or drugs. He is doing neither. His docs used to praise him for going years without varices. Said that's how they knew he wasn't drinking or being non compliant.

Could you let me know what hospital your husband is going to. I'm looking for every possible transplant hospital for my brother. I was told that a patient can be listed at more than one place.

You know they have new mods to cure hep c right? But if a TP doesn't work out- I know God is still in control and His Will shall be done.

Doesn't he have to undergo testing to get in the program? I was told that my brother has to be physically well enough to survive the operation. Also has to pass psychological tests. Are you doing a live donor transplant, or deceased donor transplant? I don't think I could afford to take my brother all the way to Hawaii for a transplant. When will you be leaving for Hawaii? Sounds exciting!

He's been through all that. Baylor will transfer records. He may not pass, but they are willing to begin the process. I'm still gonna insist on AA. He needs it regardless.

Are you going to stay in Hawaii waiting for a liver?
